Leighton’s ‘Vixens’ get kitted out with Sheriff< Back to Blog

Leighton United - team2Having been a Bedfordshire-based business for 13 years, we decided 2018 was the right time for us to give something back to our community.

And, with this year also being a World Cup year, what better place to start than with one of our local football teams?

Choosing an Under 10’s Girls Team from Leighton Buzzard (otherwise known as the Vixens) was easy.

One of the many kids’ teams run by Leighton United FC, this group of girls already know what the beautiful game is all about – learning the rules, being committed to the team, having fun, vying for the ‘girl of the match’ trophy and of course developing a healthy dose of competitive spirit. The team regularly play against other local clubs in Bedfordshire FA Girls Football League, a growing league which covers 9 age groups and features 85 clubs.

With all of this going for them, the team were well-deserving of a brand-new kit this season but didn’t initially have to funds to make it happen.

Thanks to Sheriff’s sponsorship, the girls are now proudly sporting a smart new kit in navy with yellow and white trims which also features Sheriff’s logo on the back of every shirt.

Leighton United FC’s motto is ‘Dare to Dream’ and we’re sure every team player at the club is dreaming big. With some big plans of our own on the horizon, it’s a motto we wholly agree with here at Sheriff Construction. Let’s keep those dreams alive!
