Sheriff Construction is delighted to announce that we’ve just secured our biggest brickwork contract to date. Valued at just over £6.1m, the deal will see our team supporting a major UK housebuilder at 5-acre regeneration site in Woolwich, London.

This is a significant win for Sheriff Construction as it cements the strong relationship we’ve built up with this client (who we’re not naming right now due to our protocols around confidentiality) and will provide our team with at least 2-years’ worth of secure work. The contract is also among the first to be secured since our company restructured, meaning the job will be managed through our sister company, Sheriff Brickworks.

Securing the work

Several months ago, Sheriff entered into a competitive tendering process, hoping to take on the brick and blockwork at a large residential scheme in Woolwich. The process and negotiations, managed by the company’s MD and QS team, were often complex but finally, just last week, the news came in that Sheriff had secured the work!

Celebrating the news, Ekrem Mahmutaj, Sheriff’s Managing Director, commented:

“We’re thrilled to have been awarded this contract which is not only the result of the effort we put into the tendering process to prove we were the best company for this job but also truly a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by our entire workforce.

“Alongside our surveying team, this includes those who work in finance and administration who make sure all our systems, processes and paperwork is kept up-to-date; marketing who keep our company’s brand and good reputation in the public domain; and of course our on-site management and skilled workers who have given Sheriff a proven track record of delivering high-quality construction works.

“This new contract will reinforce our position as a leading construction subcontractor in our region and we look forward to, once again, delivering exceptional results for our client over the coming years.”

Sheriff Brickworks is keen to get started on this contract which will involve managing the masonry works for around 340 new homes in apartment complexes that will range from 2.5 – 15 storeys  in height.

We’re expecting to have a team on site in Woolwich from February, 2023 and, as well as deploying existing members of our team, we’re anticipating this work will require new talent. Keep a watch out for job opportunities coming soon.

We’ll also be sharing more news and images of this development as it progresses over the coming months so look out for these updates too.
