In 2025, Sheriff Construction turned 20 – and we celebrated with all our hearts!

From our humble beginnings in 2005 to becoming one of the leading roofing and brickwork contractors in the South East today, reaching our 20th year milestone meant a lot to us. It was a moment to reflect on two decades of teamwork, resilience and growth – and to thank all the incredible people, clients and communities who’ve been part of our journey.

To mark this occasion, we celebrated with our team throughout the year, but also set ourselves a challenge: to raise £20,000 for charity by the end of the 2025/26 financial year.

This Big Charity Challenge was our way of giving back – reflecting the generous spirit of our workforce and our commitment to making a real, lasting difference in the lives of others.

The charities we supported

Choosing just a few causes wasn’t easy, so we asked our team to help us decide. After some great suggestions and heartfelt conversations, we selected three incredible organisations that touch the lives of many:

British Heart Foundation

Every three minutes, someone in the UK dies from cardiovascular disease. The British Heart Foundation is fighting back through groundbreaking research, support services, and lifesaving public education – the goal being to save and improve lives. Find out more HERE.

Dementia UK

With one in two of us likely to be affected by dementia, this is one of the biggest health challenges of our time. Dementia UK provides vital support to families through its specialist Admiral Nurses, offering expert guidance, compassion, and care. Find out more HERE.

SOS Silence of Suicide

Suicide claims over 19 lives a day in the UK (and construction workers are four times more likely to take their own lives than the national average). SOS Silence of Suicide offers free, confidential support to those in crisis and to anyone worried about a loved one. Find out more HERE.

How we tackled the fundraising

Throughout the year, our team took on a mix of group and individual fundraising challenges as well as special events. That’s included a sponsored ‘no smoking’ challenge in February; a 1,000-mile walking goal for the British Heart Foundation in May; a summer BBQ in June with sports/ games, a raffle and other family fun activities; a 10k run in Luton where five of our team crossed the finish line; an Anniversary Gala with Auction; plus a Football Tournament where four of our teams fought it out for the trophy!

How did we do?

From all of our combined fundraising efforts, we raised £11,575.78 through our Give Wheel platform (including Gift Aid and split between the three charities) plus another £1,700 raised separately for the British Heart Foundation (including Gift Aid, raised as part of the Walk for Hearts challenge). That brings our total to £13,275.78. While a little short of our target, we’re still really proud of our team for their heartfelt efforts and thankful to all our friends, family, colleagues and associates who generously supported these amazing causes.

Thank you to everyone who helped us mark our 20th anniversary celebration — and enabled us give back in a meaningful way.
