We’re hiring!

Bookkeeper

Hours: Part-time/ flexible (minimum 2 days per week), hybrid working

Contract type: Temporary, initially for 6-months with possibilities to extend

Salary: £15 – £20 per hour, subject to experience

We are keen to appoint a positive, motivated and conscientious person to join us in developing and growing our three newest companies in Luton – Crestview Homes and Limon Homes (both property development) plus McLains (estate agents).

As our bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in helping to manage the financial records and transactions for the business. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Financial recording: Keeping accurate and detailed records of all financial transactions, including rent payments, property sales and maintenance expenses.
  2. Accounts payable and receivable: Managing and tracking incoming rent payments and outgoing payments for expenses like property repairs and utilities.
  3. Bank reconciliation: Ensuring that the company’s financial records match the transactions listed in their bank accounts.
  4. Service Charges: Calculating and managing all service charges across the portfolio of properties.
  5. Compliance: Ensuring that the companies comply with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.

Whilst most of the work will be for Crestview Homes, Limon Homes and McLains, there may be times when the bookkeeper will be expected to support the finance functions of other companies in the group, including Sheriff Construction and Sheriff Brickworks.

Our ideal candidate will be a well-organised, flexible individual that can work independently whilst also being a great team player. As these companies are in their infancy, we need someone with at least 5-years’ experience in bookkeeping who can hit the ground running. Proficiency in Xero (or equivalent) as well as other standard office software is required and a background in property is desirable (but not essential). This position might especially suit someone looking for local work that fits easily around other commitments and/or someone seeking semi-retirement.
