Image showing Sheriff team members receiving IKO award on stage at a ceremony event

Earlier this year, we reported that Sheriff had won the January 2024 IKO Contractor Recognition Award for two of our roofing projects and was in the running for the year’s overall IKO award.

We’re happy to report that, out of all the companies IKO works with across the country, Sheriff picked up the second place ‘Highly Commended’ award at the ceremony last week. Take a look at this week’s blog for more.

Accolades for our ‘stunning’ projects

Having already won the January 2024 IKO Contractor Recognition Award for our roofing projects at the former Ford HQ in Brentwood and Epping Gate, Sheriff Construction was invited to attend the annual awards ceremony on Thursday 25th April.

Held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London, the ceremony brought all the monthly winners together for a celebratory evening that included a welcome speech from IKO’s Group Managing Director, Anthony Carlyle; an inspirational speech from Everton and England amputee footballer, Liam Burbridge; a delicious three-course meal; and entertainment by musical theatre cabaret act ‘What Would Julie Do?’.

When it came to the moment to give out the awards, Anthony Carlyle stepped up to the stage once again to announce that the Highly Commended award went to Sheriff. In a short speech, Anthony described our Brentwood and Epping Gate projects as “stunning”, adding that we had demonstrated “excellent collaboration” and that our company was “very well thought-of” at IKO. Take a look at this short video clip here.

We were pipped to the top spot by Briggs Amasco who, among other projects, have fulfilled some incredible roofing works at Battersea Power Station and Sumburgh Head Lighthouse. Our congratulations go out to them for their achievement!

Our award was presented on the night to Sheriff’s Managing Director, Ekrem Mahmutaj and Contracts Manager, Klodi Corja. Commenting afterwards, Ekrem said:

“Receiving the ‘Highly Commended’ award from IKO is a proud moment for Sheriff, a testament to the effort and commitment that everyone in our team puts into their work. Our company’s ethos is to go over and above expectations and that applies to everything from how we collaborate with suppliers to the quality of workmanship we provide for our clients. I thank IKO for this award and our ongoing partnership and also wholeheartedly thank everyone at Sheriff for their role in making this happen.”
