ZSL Whipsnade is among the many Zoos across the UK which are looking forward to reopening on June 15th when lockdown restrictions ease a little further.

But, after weeks of having no visitors while still having to carry the cost of caring for thousands of animals, ZSL put out a public appeal for donations. With Whipsnade being so local to us, this is a place which many in our company are members of and/ or enjoy visiting on a regular basis. Keeping this in mind, we decided to support the charity’s urgent fundraising appeal with a donation of £1000. The money will be used to help the zoo team feed the 22,000 amazing animals they have at both Whipsnade and London zoos.

Sheriff’s Managing Director, Ekrem Mahmutaj, commented:

“Whipsnade has been part of mine and my family’s lives for many years and has given us many happy family memories. We would hate to see any of their animals come under threat and I know that many in our team feel the same way. I hope Sheriff’s donation can make a small difference and would ask anyone in our company who feels they can spare something, large or small, to make a donation too.”

ZSL Whipsnade re-opens on June 15th but everyone (members included) must pre-book tickets online. Visit their site here.

Donations to ZSL can be made here.
